Loop'D security architecture: MPC wallets, passkeys, and multi-sig
How member balances and tokens are safeguarded: threshold MPC key sharding, FIDO2 WebAuthn passkeys, 2-of-3 operator approvals, and cold custody.
Multi-Party Computation (MPC) Wallets
When you register an account on Loop'D, you are provisioned an institutional-grade Multi-Party Computation (MPC) wallet. Unlike traditional crypto wallets with dangerous single private keys or seed phrases that can be stolen, MPC splits private key authority into mathematical shares.
One key share is held securely on your authenticated device, one share is managed in a hardened cloud hardware security module (HSM), and a third recovery share is held in cold air-gapped escrow. No single party—including Loop'D staff—can execute a token transfer without your cryptographic consent.
Passkeys and Hardware 2FA
We recommend all members activate FIDO2 WebAuthn passkeys (Apple Touch ID / Face ID, Windows Hello, or YubiKeys). Passkeys provide phishing-resistant authentication that makes credential stuffing and SIM-swapping impossible.
2-of-3 Multi-Party Operator Approvals
All platform-wide minting, token burning, vault releases, and large treasury transfers require 2-of-3 digital signatures from authorized compliance and operations officers. Every operator action is permanently written to an immutable append-only audit log.
